Stando a quanto riportato da portale finlandese mtv.fi, il 39enne attaccante Jarkko Ruutu ha firmato un contratto con il Bienne per sostituire l’infortunato Niklas Olausson.
Draftato al terzo turno come 68esima scelta assoluta dai Vancouver Canucks nel 1998, Ruutu la scorsa stagione ha giocato 52 partite con lo Jokerit di Helsinki, ottenendo 22 punti.
In carriera nella lega finlandese ha fatto registrare 186 punti in 357 partite. In NHL ha vestito le maglie di Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators ed Anaheim Ducks, per un totale di 707 partite e 152 punti.
